Imscared - A Pixelated Nightmare

Imscared is much more an experience than a game. In Imscared, you interact with an entity that apparently lives as data, therefore, the data can do things on your computer, such as create files, open it’s .exe file, open images in your browser, or close itself. Throughout the game, the entity (as we know as ‘White Face’) speaks to you through different means. We mostly interact in White Face’s world, one that it seems to have created itself (?), and during our interaction White Face chooses to let us see things at different times, learn things that it needs us to know, and interact with us seemingly out of desire for communication with another person.

The game becomes more terrifying as you progress, but also your feelings about White Face begin to change (it’s hard not to comment on anything!)

I have seen the game featured on many ‘top freeware’ or ‘indie horror’ game lists of 2012 and it’s very deserving of it’s title. Imscared is tough to explain, it’s a game that you just have to play, and you can only play it once.

OFF is a surrealistic RPG-type game crafted with the finest RPG Maker 2003 created by Mortis Ghost.

WHAT’S THE FUCKING DEAL WITH IT? WHAT’S THE STORY?

The story itself, is quite…hard to describe without spoiling anything. the basic premise of the game is that you are YOU, and YOU control The Batter, who the game suggests is the main character, and, he’s a man with a simple mission. To purify the world.

WHY IS EVERYONE PISSING THEIR PANTIES OVER THIS GAME?

much like Yume Nikki, this game’s sense of surrealism, and vague points, can leave a lot to the imagination.

there is no description as to why you have to purify the world through The Batter.

There’s no clear motivation, nor a clear enemy. You can’t piece everything from the get go, and that keeps people’s attention.

But, to know the in-depth shit, because basically every single conversation in this game is relevant to the plot. You have to play it

Four, Unzip OFF, Install the fonts contained with the zip file into your fonts. look for tutorials on how to do this for your specific operating system.

AND FIVE, run RPG_RT located inside of the OFF game folder.
